Workshop Allrounder:
how to stage

What do ‘Upstage Left’ or ‘Jardin’ mean, anyway? What exactly is the role of stage management or production management? How can I make my quick changeover on a large festival stage less stressful? Or what exactly is the difference between an ‘unbalanced’ and a ‘balanced’ output?

If questions like these keep popping up in your day-to-day rehearsals and concerts — you’ve come to the right place! This workshop provides technical knowledge that might be handy for your stage setup or stage performance and prepares both beginners and professionals for the challenges of live events. Among other things, the focus is on the safe handling of equipment and enabling communication with the various working professionals in the live event sector, such as technicians, pre-production staff, and others. The goal of the workshop is to reduce any apprehension about technical stuff and develop genuine “stage confidence.” Participants will learn to understand technical concepts and to perform confidently and competently on stage, even under time pressure.

Led by FINTA experts from all areas of the live music industry (sound, lighting, backline, production) and based on your needs and input, we’ll take the time to answer questions, share tips on how to communicate most effectively with your technical crew, update your rider, and simply lay a solid foundation so you can head to your next studio session or gig with confidence and enthusiasm.
